Ken Schmid

Ken Schmid is the founder of Traffic Concepts, Inc. (1991) and has been working in the traffic engineering field for the past 40 years in both the public and private sectors. Ken's employment experience includes SHA Office of Traffic and Safety (3 years), SHA District 5 Office - Traffic Division (5 years) and Anne Arundel County Traffic Engineering Department (3 years).  Ken has grown Traffic Concepts, Inc. to become one of the most reputable and respected traffic and transportation engineering firms in and around the State of Maryland. 

Ken's 40 years of experience with both small and large projects gives him the understanding to handle the difficult development processes within jurisdictions in and around the State of Maryland. Ken has developed a philosophy to make sure clients are well informed early on and through the entirety of the approval process.  Ken has provided expert testimony all across the State of Maryland and is well known for his honesty and integrity by Hearing Officers and Planning Commissions throughout the State.

Ken holds a Bachelor of Arts in Civil Engineering Degree from the University of Maryland - College Park and is a former member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE).
